Frequently asked questions

  • How do I become a member?

You can fill in a form in the Join Us page of this web site, fb or e-mail us and we can get a form sent out to you to complete and return.

  • What is the process for renewing my membership?

We will contact you each year to renew your membership.  There is nothing too difficult to do just payment of the membership fees.

  • Who do I notify of my new address, phone, email,etc.?

Send us a message via e-mail or fb us and we can update your details.  It does make contact so much easier if we have the right and current details.

  • Are there any online discussion groups in which I can participate?

Once you become a member you will have access to our closed group discussion forums through our web site and fb.

  • How can I obtain my user name and/or password to login to the web site?

Again once you become a member we will send you your username and password to login to web site area and invite you join our members only fb community.

  • Do I have to attend the annual conference?

Our annual conference  or Hui ā-tau is held in Rotorua each year usually around mid March for the weekend.  It is not compulsory but we do urge all our members to take the time once a year to reconnect and contribute to our discussions / AGM.  It is a wonderful time to with be like minded people and here what others have been doing over the last year professionally, culturally and educationally and personally.

  • How do I register my interest in attending the annual conference?

We send you event information with instruction on how to register.  All of the planning is done at our end we arrange travel and accommodation.

  • How can I contribute to the organisation?

We are always looking for members to assist in projects, consultation, advocacy forum attendance, mentoring students and our young members etc etc.   By being proactive in telling us what you can do and can’t do.   We are always canvassing our membership when opportunities arise do they want to be part of the process and the project.
