Working back in your own community and with whanau is a goal for many of us. Being able to take back home what you’ve learnt and being able to help others with that knowledge is part of the ‘hero’s journey’.
One of our members Sasha Dobie has recently returned home to Opotiki and is now working in Opotiki Pharmacy and loves being back home! Sasha is keen to share what she has learnt and in particular is looking forward to doing more medicine use reviews (MUR) and Medicines Therapy Assessments (MTA) in the future. MURs and MTAs can help whanau to understand their medicines more and can optimise treatment regimes.

Part of her busyness this year has included completing postgraduate studies through University of Otago. Successful completion will see her with a new Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy so congratulations Sasha!
All that study meant that CrossFit took a bit of a backseat for a while only getting in a couple of sessions a week but fitness enthusiast Sasha will be back into that in no time and pumping out the WODs no doubt.

If that wasn’t enough already Sasha is starting to get into running now that its lighter in the evenings and is looking forward to the Toi’s Challenge coming up on the 22nd November!!
Toi’s challenge is an 18km run up and over the Whakatane hill to Ohope and back again!! Click here for more about Toi’s Challenge.
