Our Work

Ā Mātou Mahi

While most pharmacists work in community and hospital pharmacies, many also work in primary healthcare environments (with general practitioners), government organisations, industry, medical writing, and academia. Opportunities for pharmacists are constantly growing as the healthcare sector changes to meet the needs of our communities.

Pharmacists play an important part in the health workforce in providing access to medicines, optimising use of medicines and ensuring quality of medicines and do so through a variety of roles including services relating to: primary health care, medicines management, community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy.   Some pharmacists are even involved in border patrol and others have new roles in prescribing.  They are also one of the most trusted professions.
