Attention all Māori pharmacy students!!
In partnership with PHARMAC, this scholarship was established to support the education of Māori pharmacy students studying toward their Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, and to promote pharmacy as a career.
The scholarship is named in honour of our Te Arawa kaumatua Hiwinui Heke MPS (1930–2014).
He was the first Māori Pharmacist who graduated in 1955 and contributed significantly to Māori and the Rotorua rohe as an influential leader and advocate. Matua Heke’s endurance, patience and pharmaceutical longevity, along with his leadership of Māori in the profession, inspired many.
Available to students of New Zealand Māori descent enrolled and studying full-time for the full year at the Otago School of Pharmacy or the Auckland School of Pharmacy studying toward the undergraduate degree of the Bachelor of Pharmacy, applications are open NOW and will close 31 October 2015.
